I have just been informed that the ductwork under my house will have to be replaced at a cost of $2,600.00. I had a new gas pack for the first floor of my house installed in 2002. At that time I was told the existing ductwork was fine–better than I could purchase then–of course that was nine years ago now! Prior to this news I was considering installing new storm windows on my house to replace some added in the late 1980s that are broken and will not open. Suddenly I remembered hearing or reading about grants to assist homeowners in saving energy and wondered if this limited work would quality.

I am interested in the grant you are advertising. I own a home that was built in the 1940′s. It actually made it through Hurricane Katrina structurally, but it is in desperate need of new windows. The wood has deteriorated and is steadily falling off around the panes. I looked into purchasing some energy-efficient windows with a lifetime guarantee that will reduce the sun’s rays and conserve energy. However, the cost will be $4500 and I am unable to afford them now or in the near future. Please qualify me for this grant.

I would like to know how to obtain an energy grant for my home. My home needs new windows it is over 40 years old. And now that my husband is not able to work we have no means of fixing this our selves.

He has been declared disabled by a judge. As well as I. We need help.

I would love to be able to put a new heating and air conditioning unit in my home. All we have are window units. And our bathroom needs fixed as well really Bad. Please help if possible.

I was told my home had a “new roof”, but after 2 years I am finding the “new roof” is only “new” in a few spots and done cheaply and the “new windows” are double paned and very nice, but not installed correctly so they leak like sieves wasting my heat and air conditioning as well as electricity and gas. Some extra insulation in the walls would also be welcomed because I am sure it is not as insulated as it should be. Where do we go to fill out an application for a grant? Student loans and the high cost of living in this economy right now make it impossible to pay out of pocket for these much needed environmental and energy-saving projects.

You should consider contacting your local Grant office to see the listings that are available to choose from and the requirements that are included with the application! Using the services for a grant assistant you can ensure that you are able to learn as much as possible.

I am a DIYer and I want to produce free energy from solar panels. I would like to put in a 3KW system but I need financial help doing it. I want to reduce the greenhouse effect produced by my home. However like everyone else the initial cost would breake the family savings acount. A grant from the Federal Government would go along way in helping me help the planet.
Any information you can give me will be greatly appreciated.
