Different Purpose-Based Program Grants

The main objective of most of the program grants is to offer financial assistance to groups of researchers who are involved in extensive, multi-disciplinary and collaborative research activities. The qualified research teams are expected to make valuable contributions to respective fields at international level. There are different types of program grants offered for achieving excellence in diverse areas. Following are some of the categories of research-related programs that can be funded through grants:

Small Grant Program: The program aims to provide support to variety of research projects, including feasibility of studies, collection of data, and analysis of existing data, development of new research technology and so on. The program grants for these activities are generally fixed for a short time period and are not renewable.
Assistance for Conferences and Scientific Meetings: In order to promote development in science and technology, program grants are available to conduct conferences and meeting that are relevant to the scientific mission set by the funding source. These grants usually do not accept applications from foreign institutions.
Academic Research Enhancement: This type of research-based grant program aims to support small research projects generally in field of sciences that are conducted by students and faculty.
Developmental Research Grant: With the aim to promote new, exploratory and developmental research projects these program grants are offered to eligible research teams. The grants support the research work at their early stages like for pilot and feasibility studies.
Small Business Innovative Research: Grants are available to encourage research or research and development activities in private sectors. The objective of these grants is to support technological innovations in the private sector. There are also some program grants that support small business research community in commercializing their innovative technologies.
Project Cooperative Agreement: This type of grant program aims to support different types of projects- discrete, specified, and circumscribed for promoting the interests and competencies of individual research teams, making valuable contribution to a specific field.
